New York fashion Week is starting very hard. Jeremy Scott, creative director of Moschino, plunges us back into childhood. Accustomed to the big shows, the creator had been deprived of a parade last year, Covid-19 forced. But the most extravagant designer of the fashion sphere had nevertheless proposed a new collection presented by real puppets. In his continuity, for his fashion show Haute Couture ready-to-wear Spring / Summer 2022, the designer wanted to give life to his dolls from last year. In a country and blooming décor, supermodels like Gigi Hadid, Irina Shayk and Taylor Hill parade in extravagant outfits with acidulated colours. The models turn into Barbie dolls that Jeremy Scott has dressed meticulously. Several details referring to the world of childhood are present. There are bunny-shaped bunny-shaped dresses, bear prints and imposing rattle-shaped hair accessories. On the accessories side, the bags become buckets of sandbox, striped popcorn boxes, or soft sheep stuffed carpets. The designer confirms the two main trends of the moment by offering platform heels as well as a multitude of feather parts. We discover a new collection of uppers, from tailors to short blazers and jackets with quilted fabric, often present in babies' cradles. Lolita's glasses, very present on the podium, plunge us back into the crazy evenings of the 2000s. The parade ends with a sexier Gigi Hadid than ever in a sheath dress, which literally puts herself in the skin of a doll. Bottle in hand, she minks like a toddler that Jeremy Scott wanted to be reborn. A contrast between the childish universe and glamorous silhouettes creates a successful parade with hand in hand.
