Montreal Mode week unveils its programming<

The Montreal Mode week (SMM), which will be reborn from the ashes after having bowed out in 2013, unveiled its programming Tuesday.Open doors of workshops, launch of new collections, exclusive promotions, chats and conferences will host this first edition, which will take place from September 13 to 19.

Wishing to make this event a celebration of Montreal fashion which is inclusive and accessible, MMODE, the Montreal fashion cluster, brought together nearly 70 local designers and large banners who, for many, will welcome the public in their premises, distributed tothrough the city.It will thus be possible to visit the workshops of Anne-Marie Chagnon, Selfish Swimwear and Veining, in particular.Several brands will also take advantage of the event to launch their fall-winter collection and offer exclusive, online or in workshop promotions.

At the Eaton Center, rue Sainte-Catherine, Jean-Claude Poitras will appropriate the old room of the castle to present the exhibition of his fashion and house collection of Mali of my loves which he developed as part of "La NouvelleCotton road ”, an initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Mali in Canada to enhance the Malian cotton.

The Maison Antonio Ortega Couture, the Hatter Natalia Baquero and the Higher School of Fashion of the ESG UQAM will also hold exhibitions.

On September 13, the Metropolitan Montreal Chamber of Commerce will bring together David Bensadoun (Aldo), Sophie Boulanger (Bonlook) and Debbie Zakaib (MMODE) around a chat that will take place in the Sheraton Center.They will discuss economic issues and trends in the fashion industry.

The SMM will also host the first diversity forum and inclusion specific to the fashion industry.On September 14, three online discussion panels, led by Mitsou, Anne-Lovely Étienne and Chris Bergeron will approach bodily, ethnic and genre diversity.

Other conferences and training for industry professionals, students and public members are also offered.
