In perfect control of the situation so far, Sébastien Ogier gave himself a little scare on the first kilometers of this special. In a chicane, the Frenchman hit a block with the front-right wheel but his Pirelli tire and the rim held up.
At the finish, the Toyota driver finally set exactly the same time as Elfyn Evans and therefore kept his small margin of five tenths in the lead. Behind the Toyotas in the general standings, Dani Sordo and Thierry Neuville made different tire choices but the Belgian regained only 1s6 against his teammate.

For 5th place, Takamoto Katsuta managed to take back 3s5 from Oliver Solberg but that seems insufficient to have any real hope of returning, unless the Swede makes a mistake.
In WRC3, Yohan Rossel still concedes time on this circuit against Kajetan Kajetanowicz but keeps second place by 1s5 against the Pole. In front of them, Andrea Crugnola is widening the gap. The Power Stage scheduled for 12.18 p.m. could obviously be decisive!
Only fifth in the provisional RC2 standings, Jari Huttunen still largely retains the WRC2 lead.
A. Fourmaux 5:21.7 | “It was fun to ride 100% on asphalt with only the circuit. I didn't want to make any mistakes so I just rode clean. The conditions are very cold and slippery, but it was interesting.” |
K. Rovanpera 5:22.3 | “Last day, we still have to finish on a high. It's an important day for the team, so we're hoping for the best we can.” |
G. Greensmith 5:19.6 | “I gave everything I could, I couldn't do anything more. We are doing our best." |
T. Suninen 5:17.5 | “It could have been better, I was a bit too careful on the braking. But my driving is better in the chicanes now.” |
T. Katsuta 5:13.5 | “It's better than I expected. I've made some stupid mistakes on the track the last few days, so I've been a little careful. It was a clean stage so that's good.” |
O. Solberg 5:17.0 | “I wanted to try something new with the tyres. I hit a barrier in a chicane and I'm really lucky not to have a puncture. |
T. Neuville 5:12.3 | “It was a good stage and I tried to make a different tire choice from Dani. It was good at the start but a little more complicated at the end with some understeer.” |
D.Sordo 5:13.9 | “I didn't want to take any risks. Thierry had soft tires and was a better choice for this kind of stage. My car is working very well so we are satisfied.” |
E. Evans 5:13.3 | “We try to do what we can. It's tough, it was my first time with the cross tires for me and it was a bit strange in some places, but I think it was the right choice. |
S. Ogier 5:13.3 | “It proves that it's very easy to make a mistake and type something here, I didn't expect that.” |
