Show - Loewe - Ready-to-wear fall-winter 2019-2020<

Loewe presented its new fall-winter 2019-2020 collection during the ready-to-wear fashion show in Paris. A narrow, graphic, sublime first coat. "To produce this emotion when the garment is self-sufficient, when it is powerful, without ever dominating the personality of the wearer", says Jonathan Anderson, the artistic director of the Madrid house. It's a newfound austerity, counterbalanced by flimsy pieces of lace, stuffy feathers and strange colorful prints. A denim baggy rubs shoulders with a blouse weighted with pearly pearls. The new bag (the brand's original profession) named Lantern, in crocodile, is inspired by an archive from the 1950s... This approach is not without risk. But this generation - Dolan, Anderson - only finds its creative salvation in narrative tension. This is carried by the soundtrack of creaking footsteps on the parquet floor, while a loincloth skirt with a leather belt and fringe of mirrors crosses a knitted dress falling like a veil worn over straight trousers. The designer still wonders about these miniatures from a distant era and draws an analogy with our contemporary representations (“but how long will the images of our smartphones be preserved?”) when the guests leave the room and queue to take a selfie in front of the delicate and tiny hanging portraits.
