Saint Laurent exhibits the little -known photographs of JeanLoup Sieff in his right bank store<

Known for having produced the naked portrait of Yves Saint Laurent, Jeanloup Sieff has become inseparable from his precious photo.On the occasion of the new edition of Paris Photo, Anthony Vaccarello, the artistic director of Maison Saint Laurent, returns to the work of the French photographer in an exhibition to discover until December 7 in his Rive Right shop in Parisand Los Angeles.

An exhibition on the poetry of spaces

If Jeanloup Sieff left us in 2000, his photographs remained legendary, whether for his fashion images or his shots on the body of the woman.But the eclectic artist had also attached himself to the beauty of landscapes, lines and large spaces.His work remained more confidential on these themes, and it was through this look that Anthony Vaccarello has chosen to present the exhibition.He pays tribute to the one who was as much a photographer as a great reporter, bringing back his ethereal images imprints of great sensuality.His photographs are strong, pure, they go to the essentials (hence the singular choice of black and white).And they notably earned him the national grand prize for photography in 1992.

A privileged relationship in fashion and at the Saint Laurent house

For this early art enthusiast, the photo very quickly becomes his expression of predilection.He received his first device at the age of 15 and produced several fashion series for various magazines while he is still a student.During his career, he photographs the greatest models of his time like Dorian Leigh, Twiggy or Jean Shrimpton, cinema stars, political personalities or even anonymous.Friend of Maison Saint Laurent, he has always had a privileged relationship with the creator.The famous nude of Yves Saint Laurent produced for the campaign of the first perfume in 1971 was scandal before becoming emblematic of contemporary culture, beyond modes and eras.
