Men's fashion in Milan: Zegna in weightlessness<

Alessandro Sartori is passionate about photography. Those who would still ignore him had, this Friday, the masterful demonstration of his sense of the image. For his fourth Ermenegildo Zegna Couture show, the artistic director of the Italian house had chosen a fabulous setting: a building placed on water mirrors designed by Oscar Niemeyer for Mandadori editions, a few kilometers from the center of Milan. The guests waited for sunset to attend a magical show during which the colors of the sky seemed to perfectly match those of the clothes on a catwalk also dressed in mirrors in which the sky and the silhouettes of the models were reflected.

Alessandro Sartori is once again offering a modern and urban vision of the men's wardrobe this season, betting on the fusion "between performance, speed? two attributes borrowed from the world of sport? and refinement", he specifies. The silhouettes are loose and airy, the blends bold and exclusive. Shirts and jackets, hybrid and oversized, collide and feature experimental collars and double sleeves, while bomber jackets and anoraks are worn over high-waisted trousers with two darts, signaling the emergence of a new way of consider the suit. The parka adopts two lengths and gains in casualness like a shirt. As for the knit, it gives free rein to the inventive play of superimpositions. Still in this spirit of cross-fading, sneakers and sandals combine opanka stitching with technical details and perforations borrowed from the world of sport and opt for a bold sole.

"For me, creation always stems from a technical challenge, explains Alessandro Sartori. I offer voluminous and daring shapes but all in lightness, an effect obtained by the juxtaposition of layers of mesh, wool and silk I find this same notion of challenge in the architecture of this space. It is the ideal place for each member of the Zegna community who recognizes themselves in the XXX logo to reclaim their individuality by conveying the message of a collection that is a symbol of Couture craftsmanship, the most personal and unexpected expression of fashion according to Zegna".

After this magical show punctuated by the music of Wladimir Schall, the guests were able, as Alessandro Sartori always wishes, to discover the looks more closely in the company of personalities who are friends of the house, such as the actor Dev Patel, the rapper Joey Badass, actor Joe Cole and DJ Agathe Mougin. A "pizza - ice cream" evening to elegantly celebrate the start of Milan fashion week.
