“I have faith”: Virgil Abloh spoke in his last interview for Vogue France<

Virgil Abloh: I'm a fan of many contemporary artists, but Tyler, The Creator seems to me to be the most important. He inspires me because he is one of the free spirits who break the codes, push the boundaries.

Virgil, how does your Post Modern foundation occupy a large part of your daily life?

Post Modern is the tangible part of my ecosystem, which allows those who wish to take the same path as me. I started the foundation by raising $1 million so that black or diverse students could fund their enrollment in fashion schools. Today, more than eighty American establishments are part of it and this is only the beginning: we offer tutoring, several types of resources... I am very active there, as invested as in my own career. I am convinced that it is not enough to remain in the shadows to witness the changes.

How do you think the next generation of creators will find their way?

Nigo: This young generation has little difficulty in making themselves known, and it can be difficult to distinguish the really major designers because of social networks, which are central to the way in which these young designers present themselves. Knowing that you can do everything with an iPhone, they don't leave their homes. It's hard to stay curious and innovative with this lifestyle. If I want as many creators as possible to be revealed, I'm waiting for the next star...

“J'ai la foi” : Virgil Abloh se livrait lors de sa dernière interview pour Vogue France

Virgil Abloh: These young people have to blaze their own trail. And why not after reading this interview? In any case, there should be no limits to them. I remain very inspired by my predecessors, but nobody tells me which direction to take. You have to let yourself be carried away by the movement, and see what will happen. Being optimistic is what gets me up every day. I see a better future than our past. Whether in fashion, in creativity, in artistic integrity, in whatever media will take us to that bright future, I have faith."
