While Parisian Haute Couture week just got off to a flying start this Monday, July 5, still between joyfully rediscovered reality and well-thought-out digital, the iconic French Maison Dior unveiled its Couture fall-winter 2021-2022 collection during a physical parade at its usual meeting: at 2:30 p.m. in an ephemeral setting planted in the heart of the Tuileries gardens.

Dior Haute Couture show: the cinematic look of Maria Grazia Chiuri in 12 silhouettes

For this return to real fashion, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Dior affirm all the more their intimate link with cinema. If the Maison's films, by turns poetic, dreamlike and mystical, have punctuated the last seasons of digital Fashion Week, this Fall-Winter 2022 Haute Couture cabin is inspired by the concept that surrounds them: the seventh art.

According to the black and white silhouettes declined in a speckled tweed that would almost make one think of the grain of an old film, embroidery thought as a "tactile materiality" through its fishnet detail, a plethora of ball gowns with skilful pleats and drapes vaporous... A cinematographic show signed Dior ended in beauty with a dress in flowers, symbol of the constant mutation which wants to be more current than ever at the dawn of a new post-Covid era.
