“I was talking about it with a friend last night.We had fun imitating the Trudeau family, ”says Mukesh Kumaravel, a young Tamil from Mumbai, passionate about politics.The Prime Minister's clothing made him smile "because these are traditional costumes that we do not wear in everyday life".

However, Mukesh adds that the people around him "respect" Justin Trudeau for having worn them and do not feel "offended": "We feel honored, we find it nice on his part.»»

In addition, Mukesh recalls that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the first to put on traditional costumes when he goes to the different regions of the country.

Prime Ministers Trudeau and Modi will meet on Friday.The Indian leader was not present at the arrival of his Canadian counterpart in India, which caused controversy.

"Despite their disagreement, Trudeau and Modi agree that politics is the art of wearing exotic clothes," laughs the author of Indian cinema Dinkar Sharma.

We asked Désirée Anwar Nagpal, who works in the fashion industry in New Delhi, to give us his opinion on the clothes of the Trudeau family.

The Prime Minister is very followed in India.Several Indians appreciate its opening towards the Indian diaspora in Canada.

However, Trudeau did not escape taunting on social networks in India."Seriously, they exaggerate," Indian journalist Anubha Bhonsle wrote on Twitter."It's really too much," said New Delhi's journalist Gargi Rawat."We reduce India to a caricature," regrets journalist Gulu Ezekiel.
