After a first praised trailer, Spider-Man 3 (Spider-Man: No Way Home) unveils a first poster. Poster confirming the establishment of the multiverse started by Loki on Disney+. Now the Avengers must face off against Kang the Conqueror. But in the meantime, Spider-Man will have to manage the Sinister Six from previous adaptations: the films of Sam Raimi and The Amazing Spider-Man. And as always with Disney, we maintain the mystery... While waiting to finally discover them on video, a look back at the villains of the poster: the Green Goblin, Electro and Doctor Octopus.
Big villain of Sam Raimi's first Spider-Man in 2002, the character played by Willem Dafoe impressed a lot of spectators when he came out. If the criticisms of his costume fuse before the release, the director finally convinces of his reading of the villain. It must be said that the interpreter of Norman Osborn shows off a lot, fully respecting the buffoonery of the villain. Peter Parker, considering the man as an adoptive father, has no choice but to kill him. An unintentional kill from the Spinner when the Green Goblin wants to play a trick on him. Willem Dafoe resumes the costume more than 20 years later and we can see it on the poster.
For the record, another costume had been tested by Sam Raimi. This outfit referred a lot more to the comics.
Considered the best Spider-Man film, Sam Raimi's second film stars Otto Octavius. Doctor Octopus was born following an unfortunate accident during which his wife lost her life. The man, embodied again by Alfred Molina in Spider-Man 3, then merges with his mechanical arms. Now linked to his machine, he then set about improving his machine with devastating power. Spider-Man must now face a dangerous enemy. Everyone remembers the famous Skytrain scene in New York. Eventually, Otto Octavius learns Peter Parker's secret identity, comes to his senses, and sacrifices himself to save the city.
Being a multiverse Doctor Octopus, this arc doesn't seem to matter in the next movie (like the Green Goblin).
Another tragic story but this time Electro is not from the Sam Raimi movies. The character appears in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, played by Jamie Foxx and back in Spider-Man 3. Friendly and shy, Max Dillon is a scientist who thinks he's friends with the superhero. During an accident, the man is electrocuted by modified eels and acquires his powers. He can now channel and use powerful electric shocks.
During a meeting in Times Square between Max Dillon and Spider-Man, Electro freaks out. He is then arrested and swears revenge on the Spinner. At the end of the film, the former Oscorp employee is stopped by the superhero.
Sony unveils the first poster of Spider-Man 3 with beautiful people. In addition to Doctor Octopus' claws, which appeared in the trailer, we discover the Green Goblin in the distance. The latter has the exact same design as in Sam Raimi's film. Marvel Studios seems to have wanted to keep this iconic costume. Electro does not appear directly, represented by lightning.
Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters December 15, 2021. The perfect holiday movie!
