On the occasion of Europe Day on Sunday, which this year celebrates the 71th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, Brussels puts itself throughout the weekend in the colors of Europe.
In this context, Manneken-Pis was offered on Saturday around 3.30 p.m. by European Commissioner Didier Reynders a white and blue costume, which he will wear until Sunday evening.
In the company of the Order of Friends of Manneken-Pis and the Meyboom fanfare, the Brussels alderman for Delphine Houba culture received the costume from the European Commissioner, in the courtyard of the Patrician house.It consists of pants and navy blue shoes, a white shirt as well as a cap and electric blue straps with yellow stars.
The costume was then put in the Manneken-Pis.Its new outfit was revealed in front of a large audience."I am very happy to be able to participate in this event, the first for quite some time for the Manneken-Pis," said Didier Reynders.

In collaboration with the ASBL Schuman Square, the representation of the European Commission in Belgium also decorated the center of the European district with its colors.The bust of Robert Schuman was highlighted, the small street of the colored law and a European flag 18 meters in diameter surrounded by the flags of the Member States and 50 European flags were placed in the center of the Robert Schuman roundabout.
As part of the book fair, a giant bd fresco, 8 meters long by 2 meters, whose theme "The future of Europe" was also carried out on Saturday between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm by European designers in Vaux-Hall, in the Royal Park of Brussels.
