Focus Griffe: Dior, New Look Generations - Challenges<

C’est en 1947 que tout commence pour Christian Dior, lorsqu’il présente sa première collection devant un parterre de journalistes médusés. Sans le savoir, il vient de réinventer la femme française : sa poitrine est mise en valeur, sa taille est ultra-cintrée et l’on aperçoit ses mi-mollets…Carmel Snow, rédactrice en chef du Harper’s Bazaar, qualifiera ce style de « New look ». Visionnaire, le couturier investit vite les pays anglo-saxons et transforme sa griffe en référence internationale. Après sa mort, en 1957, suivie par un passage furtif d’Yves Saint-Laurent, c’est Marc Bohan qui prendra la tête de la maison jusqu’en 1989. Il y insufflera de l’audace avec l’imprimé Dior Oblique. De 1996 à 2011, la marque renforcera son image avec l’exubérant John Galliano. Depuis le départ de Raf Simons en 2015, c’est une femme, Maria Grazia Chiuri, qui a pris la direction artistique de la maison. Elle y a imposé une modernité nouvelle génération doublée d’un féminisme assumé, tout en préservant les codes intemporels du raffinement.
