Sometimes opposed to Superboy and Aquaman in the comic books, or Flash in the TV series of the same name, this King Shark can be seen as a much more violent equivalent of Groot from the Guardians of the Galaxy. Because, like him, his vocabulary is reduced to a few words. And it is Sylvester Stallone who lends him his deep voice in the original version. But he doesn't physically embody it.

The Suicide Squad: who embodies King Shark in the James Gunn film?

Like Rocket at Marvel (played by Sean Gunn on set, then dubbed by Bradley Cooper later), King Shark was played by another actor during filming: Steve Agee. After playing Gef in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, the latter followed James Gunn to DC, and the director offered him two roles.

Not content with having ensured the movements of King Shark in a (heavy) motion capture costume on set, he also lends his features to John Economos, one of Amanda Waller's (Viola Davis) assistants. A role he will resume in the spin-off series devoted to Peacemaker (John Cena), already shot and intended for HBO Max.

And who says Sylvester Stallone says… Alain Dorval. The dubbing actor who lends his voice to the star of Rocky in the French versions of his films is also part of The Suicide Squad. And a video proves it.
