A Marseille of women in 32 stops<

Passionate about tourism, history and unusual places, Dominique Milherou has amassed in a few years on his "Tourisme Marseille" site hundreds of explanatory sheets which have as much to teach passing travelers as native Marseilles. For this chronicle, he draws on this reservoir to offer us interactive and thematic routes.

For once, take the opposite view of the history of great men, with a small h. Nuns, prostitutes, midwives, penitents, prisoners, resistance fighters, business leaders, writers, artists, queens and even goddesses... Here is a journey in 33 stages to encounter places and stories of women from Marseille or passing through, from antiquity to the present day, from Gyptis to Marie Maurage, an organic farmer in the northern districts, including Simone de Beauvoir, Louise Michel, Ginette Garcin and even Florence Arthaud...
